7 Day, Phases of Intention
The Prayer of Pure Mind
The Phase of Intention is not about asking for something, but aligning with what already is. It unfolds naturally as three subtle gestures that mirror the breath:
- Invocation (Inbreath) — “I open to Pure Mind.”
- Resting (Pause) — “I am held within the undefinable.”
- Offering (Outbreath) — “May all that I am serve Love.”
Use these three phases before any practice. Over time, they become a wordless prayer the nervous system learns as calm.
Day 1 — Softening the Morning Fear
Morning
Sit before rising. Hand on heart. Whisper, “Pure Mind, breathing here.” Feel the breath’s coolness and warmth. → Phase of Intention: “I open to Pure Mind … I rest … I offer this breath to Love.”
Through the Day
Whenever despair flickers, breathe ‘slow & low’ (exhale longer than inhale). Feel gravity holding you. Whisper inwardly: “Undefined … and safe.”
Evening
Journal one line: “Fear was seen and held today.” Hand on your chest, exhale everything into stillness.
Day 2 — Meeting Loneliness Tenderly
Morning
Sit near a window. Breathe sunlight or sky into your body. Whisper: “I am Pure Mind and undefined.”
Through the Day
When loneliness tightens, touch your heart and silently say: “This too belongs in Pure Mind.”
Evening
Before sleep, name one gentle thing you noticed (a sound, a color, a kindness). Whisper: “Love is Everything.”
Day 3 — Allowing Despair to Soften
Morning
Begin with a long exhale (‘slow & low’). Feel the body’s weight supported. Say softly: “Despair can rest in me.”
Through the Day
Move slower than usual. Each step becomes prayer: “In … I open. Out … I allow.”
Evening
Write: “Today I practiced allowing.” Feel gratitude for the capacity to be aware, even of pain.
Day 4 — Returning to Innocence
Morning
As you wake, recall a moment of childhood wonder. Whisper: “Pure Mind before thought.”
Through the Day
Approach tasks with beginner’s eyes. Ask, “What if I didn’t already know?”
Evening
Sit quietly; let the day dissolve. Inhale softly, exhale longer, repeating: “Undefined … undefended … free.”
Day 5 — Resting in Connection
Morning
With each inbreath: “I receive.” With each outbreath: “I give.” Feel your nervous system balancing between the two.
Through the Day
Offer small kindnesses without expectation. Each act is an expression of Pure Mind.
Evening
Whisper gratitude: “All that I give returns in Love.”
Day 6 — Surrendering Identity
Morning
Upon waking, breathe into the thought: “No name defines me.”
Through the Day
When self-judgment arises, pause and feel the breath. Silently: “Pure Mind knows.”
Evening
Sit in candlelight. Breathe slow & low, repeating softly: “I am not the story — I am the light behind it.”
Day 7 — Living as Pure Mind
Morning
Sit upright. Smile gently. “I am Pure Mind and undefined.” Feel its truth through the body.
Through the Day
Carry presence in motion: each breath a small bow to awareness.
Evening
Place one hand over heart, one over belly. Whisper your closing blessing: “May I live undefended and undefined. May Love know Itself through me.”
