I AM PURE
The 7-Day Nervous System Reset
A gentle vagus nerve healing journey for IAMPURE.me
There is a purity in you that stress cannot damage, fear cannot erase, and pain cannot take away.
This seven-day journey helps the body remember this purity by calming the vagus nerve — the quiet root of inner safety, emotional balance, and compassionate presence.
Day 1 — Returning to Inner Safety
Theme: Safety begins with softness.
Vagus Insight:
The vagus nerve listens to warmth, breath, and presence. Trying hard does not heal the nervous system — gentleness does.
Caring Touch Practice:
Place one hand on your heart and one on your belly. Breathe in softly through the nose and let the exhale be longer than the inhale. Feel the warmth of your hands as a message of safety.
I AM PURE Phrase:
I am pure. I am safe in this breath.
Reflection Prompt:
What begins to soften when I slow down and place my hands in this way?
Day 2 — Breath as Medicine
Theme: A longer exhale calms the entire system.
Vagus Insight:
When your exhale becomes longer than your inhale, the vagus nerve naturally activates, turning on your rest-and-restore response.
Caring Touch Practice:
Inhale gently for a count of 4. Exhale slowly for a count of 6–8. Repeat for 3 minutes. Let each exhale feel like a small release of tension.
I AM PURE Phrase:
I am pure breath… expanding and releasing.
Reflection Prompt:
How does my inner world change when my exhale slows down?
Day 3 — Touching the Body with Love
Theme: Caring touch is a language of safety.
Vagus Insight:
The heart, belly, face, and neck are ‘vagal gateways.’ Warm, gentle touch in these areas sends a message of safety through the nervous system.
Caring Touch Practice:
Place your fingertips softly on the side of the neck below the ear. Let the jaw loosen and the shoulders drop. Breathe slowly and feel the neck soften with each exhale.
I AM PURE Phrase:
I am pure touch… gentle with myself.
Reflection Prompt:
What does my body say when I touch it with this much kindness?
Day 4 — Softening the Face & Jaw
Theme: Relaxing the face resets emotional tone.
Vagus Insight:
The vagus nerve is deeply connected to facial muscles. When the eyes, jaw, and mouth soften, the emotional tone of the whole system can shift.
Caring Touch Practice:
Gently massage the jaw hinges with small circles. Let the tongue rest from the roof of the mouth. Allow the eyes to soften downward or close lightly if this feels safe.
I AM PURE Phrase:
I am pure ease… the world softens through me.
Reflection Prompt:
What happens when my face relaxes before my thoughts do?
Day 5 — Healing Through Sound & Vibration
Theme: Your voice is a built-in healing tool.
Vagus Insight:
Gentle humming or a soft ‘mm-hmm’ creates vibration in the throat and chest, stimulating the vagus nerve and easing tension.
Caring Touch Practice:
Hum softly for 10–20 seconds at a time. Pause and notice the after-feeling in the chest and throat. Repeat a few rounds, staying curious and kind.
I AM PURE Phrase:
I am pure tone… resonant and calm.
Reflection Prompt:
How does sound change the emotional atmosphere inside me?
Day 6 — Resting at the Base of the Skull
Theme: Grounding through stillness.
Vagus Insight:
The vagus nerve enters the skull at the back of the head. Still, supported contact here can quiet the whole system.
Caring Touch Practice:
Place a hand or fingertips at the base of the skull. Let the head rest into the support of your hand, even if only in imagination. Stay still for 1–3 minutes, noticing subtle shifts.
I AM PURE Phrase:
I am pure presence… quietly here.
Reflection Prompt:
What arises when I stop trying to change anything for a few moments?
Day 7 — Living from Pure Presence
Theme: Your natural state is clarity and peace.
Vagus Insight:
When the vagus nerve relaxes, the struggle in the mind eases. Presence reveals itself as your true nature, simple and kind.
Caring Touch Practice:
Choose your favourite practice from Days 1–6. Do it slowly, with love. After a few minutes, rest in silence and simply notice what is here.
I AM PURE Phrase:
I am pure awareness… resting as myself.
Reflection Prompt:
How might my life change if I lived from this softness each day?
